After the rain...

We had a few days of rain and heavy wind. The plants all showed a lot of growth.

Sun flowers.

Too many lettuces so we have to eat them young.

Some REAL close-ups

4th May

There is growth every day.

Every corner is being used. This is the side of the shed. Mint and Basil (plus a bird feeder)

A couple of close ups

Broad beans

Chives

Hanging baskets

Hanging basket with Solar Light in the lower one - lights up automatically at night. Message board on door frame. The cable is for the TV aerial - since sorted out.

The wall garden

The hanging baskets contain flowers, herbs and tomato plants. The tubs have herbs and strawberries in them.

A closer view. Marigolds behind the tubs.

A bicycle shelter on the right, chairs on the left in front of the braai shelter.

1st May

The vegetable patch

A few flowers planted out

But most in tubs that can be taken to any new house. A variety of potatoes are now growing. Sandra's tub is the one below the window at the back.

The table was made out of scrap wood. The trays are filled with seeds.

The tree is a Japanese Maple I bought at about 6" high three years ago when I got back from my first trip to Canada. We thought we would be moving into a permanent house.

Jacquie and Adrian get stuck in

Jacquie does the watering - no hosepipe

Adrian ssupplies the technical knowhow

In the beginning...

A few square yards of tilled soil...

... a few free standing pots...

... and a few hanging on the wall!
